Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, suggested elements of the lockdown could start to be eased from Monday 11 May. Johnson is scheduled to address the nation on Sunday evening to outline plans for the next stage of the coronavirus response, which is expected to include a relaxation of rules that currently limit UK citizens to one walk, run or bike ride per day. A spokesperson for Johnson said it would not “be a case of flicking a switch” and lifting all restrictions at once and insisted people needed to be prepared for a “different type of normal”.
